Just from that short clip, I can tell they were spot on in some details (like the old Higher D in terms of design)

Martin Sheen as Oral--looks like him, also the actor playing Carlton (Chiwetel Ejiofor)

The "Gina" actress is too dark skinned, lol

I think I'll watch it, I had thought I wouldn't, but the trailer looks interesting.

You’re too funny! I said the same thing about Chadwick Boseman playing Thurgood Marshall, but he did an excellent job. The slicking down of his hair to make it appear wavy helped some too! Us (black folk) and our skin color/hair issues!

I’m definitely going to watch it! And I don’t even have Netflix, but I will get it for a month just to watch this film.

Martin Sheen does resemble Oral Roberts a lot. Good choice on that. I’m having prayer meeting in my home on the 13th (second Friday every month), so we can watch it afterwards. This will be interesting. :)

And Jason Siegel--I don't know who his character is, but from the clip I liked it..I'll do some research.

LOL! That’s how good Sheen is. I’ve always admired his acting. I didn’t even think about that, but you’re right.

While Lorrie and I were looking at other “features” you observed the most obvious.

Carlton was at O.R.U. the same time I was. He was Orals adopted son. He preached in chapel many times and knew the word. Not sure what happened to him but Oral was very unhappy with him later on in life.

Saw the trailer. What Carlton heard was the angel of light. The theology is known as universalism. More than one alumni from oru has been sucked in to it.

Still the voice of the enemy and he should know that. The Bible teaches us to “TEST EVERY SPIRIT.” Obviously his “testers” aren’t working and I hope he returns to his first Love before it’s too late.

"There’s Pearson’s wife, Gina, whose independent spirit bristles at her limited role in the bishop’s world, and there’s Reggie, the church’s music director with too much dependence on Pearson to “pray away” his being gay and his fear of hell"...

..."Ejiofor is shown as a contemplative man not prone to outbursts, and the people around him react in an even more downbeat manner.

This is a movie in which people say they are upset and concerned, but they don’t look it, as only Ejiofor truly disappears into his character.

Jason Segel, as the business partner with a long history with Pearson, is the most wooden in what ends up being a line of people telling the bishop that they can’t support his new doctrine and Pearson telling them: I won’t recant what I know in my heart to be true.

Not that his thinking isn’t a continual wrestling match with his conscience, as he is depicted as making what literally feels like an overnight shift from his Pentecostal roots.

But this is where we can have faith that Ejiofor is always worth watching even when other characters in “Come Sunday” become less interesting."
Ok, I think I know who Jason Siegel's character kinda sorta represents...also the "Reggie" character, who was part of the music ministry and had in fact died a few years after Carlton's change. Of course I expect certain details to not be exact, probably because certain individuals did not (or could not) want to be associated with this film...and I didn't know about the uncle in jail--either I don't remember who that person was, or this was just "artistic license".
