Assange Keeps Warning Of A.I. Censorship, And It's Time We Started Listening

    Blame the algorithm!

Whenever they are accused of censoring anti-establishment narratives, these "digital super states" have been consistently denying participating in censorship themselves and instead blaming the algorithm for the information's disappearance from public view. But what does that mean, exactly?

It means "It wasn't me censoring you! It was the AI!" Which is the exact threat that Assange is pointing to here.

So, what to do? Treat FB as a public utility and regulate it as such? Does anyone trust the political authorities to define the algorithms?

To me, this is another symptom of the "winner take all" problem of today's economy, and I see no solution.

No one is forced to use FAG (facebook, amazon, google) services. They only "win" with the support of their users/subjects/chattel.

The market will fix it. You can run a site/service without abusing your users.

That's true, but FB has 2 billion users, so if you're trying to get a message out to the public and FB is blocking you, there aren't any other options out there with anywhere near the reach of FB.

And if you're a book publisher, we've already seen how Amazon treats you: https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/...-hachette.html

If you create compelling content you will pull people vs push people. FB is push technology.

Books, the same way, amazon is only a shopping cart an intermediary, the content is what sells.

People always say, "I found out something on google", no, the content was created elsewhere, what you "found out". Google only listed it, you got the information from someone else who published it.

Most of techie stuff is very deceptive, the way they market themselves. If everyone pulled their books from Amazon, it wouldn't exist (as a book market). Most of the FAG commentary published by corrupt media has you believing that FB, AMZN, GOOG is ESSENTIAL. It's a lie.
