Google Has An Actual Secret Speech Police

More than 100 nongovernment organizations (NGOs) and government agencies around the world help police YouTube for extremist content, ranging from so-called hate speech to terrorist recruiting videos.

All of them have confidentiality agreements barring Google, YouTube’s parent company, from revealing their participation to the public, a Google representative told The Daily Caller on Thursday.

A handful of groups, including the Anti-Defamation League and No Hate Speech, a European organization focused on combatting intolerance, have chosen to go public with their participation in the program, but the vast majority have stayed hidden behind the confidentiality agreements. Most groups in the program don’t want to be publicly associated with it, according to the Google spokesperson, who spoke only on background.

So one guy gets his video blocked due to 'legal complaint', but when Youtube gets called on it by him on his twitter account with over 300k followers, and another Youtuber with over a million followers, they reinstate it and gave the impression the block was 'erroneous'.

"I suspect that there is some political bent to it but I don't think it's necessarily a grand conspiracy against conservatives or anyone who's not a leftist"...Rubin told TheDC.

    Uh...WRONG.

"Does it seem that it is more so affecting non-leftist channels? Yeah, it does."

    Ya think?

Michael Brown who some of us post his content here got most of his videos de-monetized due to the content, and many of them are very innocuous videos and he can't do a thing about it. This is what happens when liberals are in charge of most of the media outlets.

I'm a little mixed on the de-monetization issue. In the publishing business creating content is not the business end of things, selling advertising is. I'm not of the mind that anyone who throws up a video is entitled to advertising. You can't force advertisers via the youtube channel to pay you, that's a bit of a leftist notion.

It's a bit of a specious argument, if your stuff is that good, you don't need youtube.

I wouldn't want PP "sponsoring" my content, so the shoe doesn't really fit. Instead of calling for regulations, whine whine, like lefties, the market will step up and create other channels, it always does, markets abhor a void.

Well I guess my point is that the way they are handling it is definitely hurting conservative views more than liberal ones whether one agrees with what they are doing or not. It's not being administered objectively.

True, they are walking a line and failing, the market will fix.
