    Yes there was a connection but obviously other factors also come into play

    I remember at time thinking about this verse but didn't say anything
    Many believers are motivated by finances ABOVE seeking God

    James 4:13
    Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
    whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
    Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."

    I know one pastor who also worked and built a mansion and for a season was experiencing financial blessings and then things went downhill spiritually and financially.

    PTL he is again ministering but he has a weakness in chasing money and equates Gods favour with finances

    There is truth that Gods favour can bring financial blessings but it can also be a big deception if our heart isn't right

    1 Timothy 6:6-10 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

    O sure. You have been so nice to me VW. I will always remember your kind and sweet words to me over the past years.

    However I do appreciate those here who have been kind to me even when I didn't deserve it. Thanks!

    Seems a chicken egg situation..was it a symptom of something deeper? Maybe, but the results were the same...if we view all financial opportunities as blessings rather than weighing them in prayer ...

    We have a young lady at church who has good office skills but was out of the job market for awhile...she applied and got a job at a Goodwill...the next day she was called to come for an interview with a better paying company but it is . As she shared her request she noted she would need to go to a car lot and get a buy here pay here car to get back and forth to work..red flags immediately went off in me ....I already sensed it was a snare because she was trying to figure out how to get a car loan...

    ...as it turns out that door seems to be closed at least for now...the more she shared about the opportunity the less excited she was..the less she felt a need to make it happen....the more she realized forcing it to work was probably an indicator it might not be God...

    I would posit that for every kind of blessing there is a caution. We need to stay in humility and dependence on God.
