    Scripture search help needed...please

Good evening all, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We survived another year...and I know this year will be full of blessings and joy.

But I am looking for a scripture...and I honestly don't know how to search...(tried lol)

It's a scripture, that states we are to journal....or write down the Word....*ugh* or something like that. I realize it's not much to go on...but if some one could guide me. I *think* it's in Malachi, but I know it's Old Testament. Gosh, I am lost.

I would be most grateful for the help. I am looking for my brother, who, Praise Jesus, received Jesus as his savior (early 2017) and I am trying to help him in his journey. I know that writing things down can be helpful, and for him, I am sure it would be a great benefit for his journey.

Anyway, your help would be great.

    Is it this one?

    Habakkuk 2:1-4
    (1) I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
    (2) And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
    (3) For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
    (4) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

There is one in Malachi similar which is one of my favorite scriptures when I think about all the times in my life that I have sat and talked with others about the Lord:

    Malachi 3
16 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Dr Mark Virkler teaches the 4 keys to hearing God's voice...this is one of the Keys...

His teaching is the best I have ever found.

For journaling it is powerful as we write down out of honor and respect for His voice...like taking notes in class indicate a sincere desire to learn...
Secondly journaling frees us to write whatever we HEAR undisturbed by our analytical mind...we do this in peace knowing after the flow of hearing stops we can step back and read and prayerfully consider...try the spirits...

It is not just journaling...it is TWO WAY journaling meaning we write our thoughts, questions, ect and the tune in faith to hear and write whatever we hear like turning on a faucet....learning to NOT turn it off to analyze...once we start to analyze we have stopped tuning to flow.

The 4 keys are found in verse 1 and 2 of Habakkuk as Godismyjudge posted...Dr. Virkler has Youtube videos on this...

A comparison is the NT passage that prophecy is subject to the prophet...anyone having been used in the gift of tongues or interpretation know that we shut off the flow if we start to question.

A study on praying in tongues...there were different levels recording on brain scans...some still somewhat engage the frontal lobe and someone not 'praying on cue' there was far less frontal lobe activity....learning to 2 way journal is the same thing....

I personally believe we rely far too much on feelings to determine God's voice..journaling trains us to be more accurately sensitive to His voice and less to our 'feelings' and 'beliefs'.

I have a friend that has done this in a very disciplined manner all her faith life...about 20 years. She often receives words of knowledge during prayer for people she has not met or ministered to. She ALWAYS still tests the Spirit asking the person some questions like, 'Did something life altering happen to you at age 13?' After a few of these the person is convinced and open to hear what God wants to minister to them...she has her notebooks to back up everything she asks them and from time to time has shared her 'Hearing' journaling with them...

I don't think there is a reference in the Scriptures.
