    New member to our home

So after much searching, questions, trips to the local animal shelters....craigslist searching, we found a really cute puppy.

We are still trying to find a name for her. We have spent the afternoon in laughter because we have searched and asked google (the device) we have narrowed down the search to about 5-6 names.

But here is our new family member. She is an 8 week puppy, aussie and german shepherd mix. Really cute lovable. Of course we are working on the potty training, and I might do crate training. I have been told she should only weigh in at a max of 50 pounds when she is an adult. But who knows.

LOl .......... only 50 LB. What a sweetie!

You know it's going to be a long night or two.

It's as bad as bringing a new baby human home!

I envy you. We're past the stage of new puppies and it's so special to have that baby in the house.

We currently have two 9yo pekingese in the house. They make me smile and giggle.

    Congratulations. She's gorgeous!

LOL...when you're used to big dogs 50 ain't that much.

Redeemed she's gorgeous! I thought at first it was a German Shepherd but I see she's a mix, and hybrids are usually healthier and not as prone to genetic problems as the purebreds are...big congrats!

    It's also not little!

While I've had Pekes and Llahsa Apso for little dogs, we've also always had a bigger yard dog, usually a lab and collie cross of some kind. Wonderful dogs, but I don't know that any of them got to 50lb. 50lb dogs, when they're raised with lots of attention and as inside dogs, often don't know they're not a lap dog, which makes for some interesting cuddling!!

Actually for me and for Krys, 50 pounds is little. But taking into considering your current animal roster I can see how you would view that as big. But considering my two, actually four previous dogs have been 75 pounds respectively. And yes, my previous German shepherd, she thought she was a lap dog and made strides to make it work. We didn't care, we actually encouraged it. I am sure this little bundle will be our lap dog as well. We love our lap dogs, no matter the size.

This little addition will be an inside/outside dog. For now, she will be an inside dog, until she is seen by my vet and then she will only be outside when we are not home. I might do crate training but have not fully made that decision. I have had great success without it.

She is a little fire ball. So excitable and so loves to cuddle all ready. But she HAS to be touching you when she sleeps. Brings her great comfort and security. She of course, loves to chew on fingers when they are close to her mouth, but she is all ready learning the idea of fetch which is so very awesome. She loves her stuffy toys all ready. Her first one is her particular favorite at this time. A golf ball is great entertainment for us.

We have narrowed down the names to the last four: Korra, Arya, Nala, and Zia. With a coin toss, it was selected as Nala. I am partial to Korra. I am not sure her personality is a Nala. But for now, we are going with that choice.

I am so very thankful for her. I have been searching for what seems like a really long time. She really is a bundle of joy.
