What I Like and Don't Like About the Modern Charismatic Movement

Great article. I'd only add that charismatic worship today often seems to be just a bunch of noise (yeah, I know, "make a joyful noise..."). I still remember and treasure the days when the worship was sweet and worshipful. Singing in the Spirit began spontaneously and ended the same way. And always harmonious.

It’s not only the so-called “modern Charismatic Movement”...It’s the same in the Denominational Churches as well.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

I kind of get #...I notices some years ago when I was still watching Christian TV that there seemed to be this competition and desperate need for some new concept....it seemed to stem from the need to keep people intrigued. I sensed in MY spirit that the Lord was saying that it's like Hollywood always needing to intrigue the MIND...If I recall that was about the time I stopped watching any of it...

As for #2...that has been around since Paul wrote the warning about saying, 'I am of Paul....'
But in most it's not a person, it's a denomination...I am a Baptist...I am a Methodist...' so whether one makes a person a celebrity or a denomination the result is the same....misplaced faith.

I agree that the entertainment mentality has overtaken and replaced real worship with real Spirit sensitive and submissive worship leaders...but that too was present in many...with the great big choirs and the pre rehearsed entertainment...

I guess I would say these things are not new but have graduated to a new level...

As with all the moves of God, we gained some good and then people brought in some bad...

Balance and sound doctrine are two of the things I really love about the Last Reformation bunch.
Here is a good video that covers some of this, if you have not already watched it.

I love to hear and investigate things....but at the end of the day I lay them at the feet of the Spirit to lead me to glean what is good and leave the rest...a far more Biblical approach than dismissing what does not fit or sound right to my theology....I love to get out of my box and often find me and the Spirit revamping it...expanding it...
