So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
New numbers - You have high blood pressure NOW
Americans with blood pressure of 130/80 or higher should be treated, down from the previous trigger of 140/90, according to new guidelines announced on Monday by the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
At the new cutoff, around 46 percent, or more than 103 million, of American adults are considered to have high blood pressure, compared with an estimated 72 million under the previous guidelines in place since 2003.

Big pharma jukes the stats a bit and doubles sales!
I wonder how many docs will play along and over prescribe?

My BP leaned on the "high" side too - However, one of the side effects of the asthma inhaler I use is: May cause elevated blood pressure.
I tried to explain that to the Dr. but all she wanted to do was prescribe BP medicine - I refused to get the prescription filled, and cut back on my salt intake -Plus, I lost several pounds - Also, I use cinnamon and celery and turmeric in my food every day - BP has gone waaaaay down.
The first thing I thought when I heard that "report" was: Big Pharma strikes again!

Keep it up. As an experienced low carber, it knocks the high blood pressure out in just a week or two. First thing is it causes your body to flush all the retained water which helps it. Not sure why else it does, but it does. When I was super heavy but on low carb, my blood pressure was normal. I wouldn't take medicine for it if i were you. But to each his own. I just don't like taking stuff.

My first thought too when I heard it on the news. I remember even my doctor saying something about it last year, how too many elderly and other folk were passing out because they were overmedicated and their pressure would crash.
This is why it was done:
"...we will label more people hypertensive and give more medication..."
