Thread: Turns out that the FBI meddles in our Elections

Washington (CNN)US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.

I think the FBI has just invented the whole "russia" narrative in order to cover their tracks. This is despicable behavior.

The left says that the fact they were looking at Manafort before the Trump election proves that they were both criminals
The right says, this is proof that Trump tower was wire tapped and Comey lied under oath

I say, I don't know what this all means yet, but I suspect nothing will happen to Obama or Trump. James Comey will probably go down for it eventually. He is the common thread in everything.

You have a lot faith in the system! I hope you are right about that.

If they were able to obtain a court order, they must have already had "some evidence" of wrongdoing. Of course, having "some evidence" doesn't prove anything, but it suggests that independent counsel Mueller's investigation is appropriate and should be allowed to continue.

I hope Mr. Mueller uncovers the truth, regardless of whether that truth is favorable or unfavorable to one or the other of the parties.

No, not at all. That's a total CNN "repeat something enough times and it becomes true" but it's not true at all.

It's also generally accepted that a prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. That's why Mueller impaneled a Grand Jury, he will probably get some indictments but you really don't need evidence for those either.

It will all come to naught. Every dirty trick they are pulling is boomeranging right back at them.

I don't think Mueller will be able to touch Trump or Obama.

I heard that the plan is to get the grand jury to indict Trump on something/anything and from there it will go to Congress for impeachment. Mueller will get to keep his hands clean (the grand jury did it). The grand jury is in swamp land .. DC area.

Of course, if it is the plan, I expect it to back fire in spectacular fashion.

Media hounded Ken Starr, but they leave Mueller alone.
