I am surprised no one knew what these were. They are walkie-talkie's made from tin cans with a wire for string. It was surprising how good they worked. We played with them for hours when I was a kid.

This was a game we played at parties. Carry an egg in a spoon and race to the finish line without dropping the egg. We use to make it even harder and put the spoon handle in our mouth with the egg and carry it to another person on your side and then transfer it to their spoon. Loads of fun. Drop the egg and back to where you started.

They had black outs in the states during WWII?

Yes they had black outs. I was nervous about them as we were not sure if they were for real and the enemy was attacking us or not. We turned all lights off and you could get fined if you did not go along. If you were driving you put on your dimmers. We listened to the radio to know when we could turn on our lights again.
