Thread: Charles Barkley: Most Black People Haven't Thought a Day in Their Lives About Confederate Statues

Yes, God forgave him, but look what happened to his children. Seems that's what's happening in the black community (20,000,000 black babies, burned, liquified, and dismembered in the womb). Do we really believe the white man is our problem? I think not!

I don't condone slavery, never have, and I know that not ALL slave owners were evil people. Yet as far as I'm concerned, American slavery was the WORST because of how it began, the brutality of it had lasting effects.

That said, we have had ample time to recover. With all of America's faults; slavery, lynchings, Jim Crow, etc., its been proven over and over and over that we can rise above the devastation. We have so many examples of black Americans who have proven that nothing can stop us but ourselves.

After all that's been done, we haven't been wiped out, still we rise; especially those of us that will put God first and rely on His righteousness to set things right.

Like the Psalmist says, "I've not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread." (37:25)

What has happened is that we (and I know most of America have, but I'm specifically speaking of black Americans), have forsaken the God of our ancestors who relied on Him, trusted Him, and rejoiced in Him even while they were in bondage. God heard their cries and just like the Hebrew slaves of old, He put an IMPERFECT man in the White House (Sound familiar?), and used him to end American Slavery. God chose Donald Trump for His purpose, and since His ways and thoughts are higher than ours, we need to pray and seek Him for truth, instead of these idiotic knee jerk reactions to lies and deceptions from the MSM.

There is no excuse not to succeed in America. Foreigners come here from all over the world and succeed because of their determination and hard work. We (black voters) elected politicians that care nothing for us and pander to the lazy and the greedy among us.

The LBJ plan to enslave us with freebies so that the grandsons of slave owners could enslave the descendants of slaves once again with a new kind of slavery, has caused much of the issues we face today, yet we continue to play the blame game and elected these deceivers instead of looking within.

I'm so fed up with the IGNORANCE of many black Americans who continue to feed on the deception propagated by Democrats with their socialist/progressive agenda. But I'm particularly perplexed by black Christians who can't (or won't) discern the trickery of the enemy who is using the same tactics he's always used to divide and conquer.

How black Christians can continue to listen to and believe the lies/deceptions of the liberal media is simply mind boggling to say the least. And to not even listen to reason or just take the time to pray, research other outlets, and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, is to my mind, plain ignorance. That's the kindest way I know how to put it.

I only listened to half of the discussion in the video because I immediately saw where it was going. More propaganda nonsense from the Left in their attempt to brainwash the public with lies and twisted logic.

They're twisting the President's words to purposely keep the country divided. It's a tactic they use so that the uninformed will continue to focus on what they erroneously perceive as racism against groups of people. It's why I don't watch News on stations like CNN.

I've said it once and I say it again, those that CHOOSE to remain deceived will suffer the most.

    Hey Sis

I dont disagree with you on the brutality of American Slavery but I have always wondered about the claim that it was the Worst which many (mostly left wing) sociologists make .

As you know Slavery in the United States was not a uniform institution it differed from colony to colony not in essence but in form. Being a slave in Massachusetts for instance was a Wholly different planet in relative terms away from being a slave in South Carolina's Rice Plantations renown for its sheer brutality

Likewise Slavery in the Carribean and South America in some cases were more brutal than anything in the US but less so in other cases

Nonetheless if we were to take a broader perspective I dont think that for sheer brutality anything could come close to Roman Slavery. I mean those folks fed their slaves to Animals for entertainment purposes , Literally worked them to death on Roman Ships and Crucified Slaves on a regular basis .

In the Benin Kingdom and other AFrican Kingdom slaves were often buried alive for ritual purposes and when the king died

Similar Practices existed In China , India among the Native Americans and so on and so forth

So again I am not disputing the claim I have always just wondered what the metric was for the claim that Slavery in the US was the most brutal

Far more slaves were sent to the Caribbean than to the US and the brutality was worse in many places. There was also the white slave trade from the Northern Mediterranean to the Muslim areas, the number of slaves involved with that trade was comparable to in the US. There is little trace of those slaves by today and in the Caribbean their descendants are typically in a majority. The minority population in the US is the reason why the tensions linger so much there.

Thanks for the links, I'll look at them later.

To start with, the capturing of Africans like hunting animals using traps and snares, then packing them like sardines on a ship in filthy, deplorable conditions, disease, and rats nibbling on their sick bodies. Tossing the sick into the ocean, among other atrocities.

Separating families, selling their children, raping young girls and women, beating with whips (not just men, but women and children as well). And let's not forget what occurred during the 125 years after slavery, and the effects on many descendants of slaves, that cant be discounted.

When I say "the worst", I should've indicated that I am referring to modern time slavery (18th-19th century). But as we both agreed, we can amicably disagree.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.
