    Church growth

    I have been looking at this for years and am sure you have too...

    I have seen many church gatherings diminish while a mega church blooms in their midst...

    A friend asked me the other day, 'We have a wonderful pastor preaches the truth and wonderful anointed praise and worship and a loving congregation and yet people won't come. The pastor told us he visited over 600 homes last year and not one attends.'

    I looked without an answer because I have no doubt about the salvation of at least some of the many in the mega church...

    So as I see it, it's not necessarily that they are not preaching truth...but more that they have built good entertainment..

    The fact is if we attended there we would also feel loved, hear good preaching and good worship..nothing different there. But a crowd lures a crowd.

    So the only thing I can put my finger on is the Hollywood entertainment theatre atmosphere....hype replacing the genuine moving and power of the Holy Spirit..

    In general, in smaller churches more people actually want to, and in some cases even have to, serve, in order for it to fulfill it's calling, whereas in many mega-churches many people mainly come to be served (or entertained).
