Right, there's a lot of hoops to jump thru to kinda get there:
I remember when I was in grade school how that stuff used to confuse me, the nuns had their favorite saint to pray to and it would leave me wondering if I was praying to right one for the right thing. A lot of the saints had a designated role as the patron saint of some special area...St Christopher for traveling, St Anthony for lost items, St Jude for lost causes, etc.Q: In 1 Timothy it says that Jesus is our sole mediator, yet we pray to Mary and the Saints. Is that going against the Bible?
A: 1 Tim 2:5 says, “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus...” “By praying to the saints, you Catholics are going against the Bible because you are making them mediators between God and man, and Jesus is our sole mediator ”
Well, let’s look and see why that interpretation doesn’t hold scriptural water. In the O.T. we see that Moses, Abraham, and Job interceded on behalf of others - that’s mediating between God and man. Plus, we know that it is okay to ask others here on earth to pray and intercede for us - that’s mediating between God and man. Once again, we have a situation where a passage of the Bible is being misinterpreted and misunderstood...

That's sad..These 'leaders' have done the same thing the Pharisees did with the law of Moses...integrated traditions that make the truth no longer effective...I can't imagine how many people have been deceived into their cultish religious practices and missed true salvation.
That's what happens when men are given a higher elevation than GOD gave them...they get puffed up with pride and self to the point they believe God has given them some 'special word' and then they twist scriptures to fit...perfect deception if one eliminates the Holy Spirit as the teacher and replaces HIM with a man...
