Thread: Carpenter Bees

    Carpenter Bees

While sitting on the patio today I saw a huge carpenter bee checking out the overhang. I've had some issues with them in the past boring holes in that overhang as well as in a deck rail but I came across something interesting that I'm going to try.

Since I try to use pesticides very sparingly I was pleasantly surprised to run across this, hopefully it will work for me too.

Let us know how that works.

Nothing brings out the little boy in me like a wasp nest.

What?! Stirring them up, or knocking them down?

No-one believes me when I tell them this, but I witnessed this first hand on several occasions. My Grandaddy would take his hat and knock down a wasp nest, and never got stung. He said he would hold his breath, and that they wouldn't sting him. crazy.

LOL, I tried to run the snake I saw in the yard over with the mower, but I was using a push mower, AND he was too little; the blades wouldn't pick him up.
