For the believer, it is beneficial that we be renewed in the inward man (spirit) day by day (2 Cor 4:16). Meditating on, study and even speaking or quoting Gods word will help to produce belief in the heart (spirit) of the Scriptures. Believing in the word of God from your heart will build into our daily walk with Him. In short, if we believe what He says, we can do what He says, because we believe it from the heart.
Don't you think the heart includes the soul and therefore the mind ? Anything besides the body. The spirit is the heart of hearts.

Having faith in God is the absolute opposite of merely having faith in, or relying on, your own self.

    God is the Creator.

    We are the created.

    We have free will.

    Freedom to make choices.

We can choose to accept the sacrifice of The Lord Jesus Christ, on Calvary's Tree, to atone for and remit our sins and become born-again with the life and nature of God imparted into our spirits and become sons and daughters of God, looking for His soon Return.

Or we can look elsewhere, stubbornly seeking our own path and and our own way.

There are not many paths to God.

There is only One way - and only One Name under Heaven that is given by which men may be saved.

    His Name is Jesus Christ.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

Man is a spirit, has a soul (mind, will, and emotions) and lives in a body (1 Thess 5:23). Our mind is renewed by the word of God (Rm 12:1-2). Man is triune, spirit, soul, body.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

I agree, apart from the term "triune" which I do not like because of the connotations. More cleverness gone awry.

Nothing to do with the triune God head; Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Man is not divine, but wrecked and depraved outside of Christ. Just an expression. Not comparable to divinity.

The terms, “spirit of man” and “heart of man,” are used interchangeably throughout the Bible.

According to dictionaries the term arose as a technical term to describe the Christian concept of the Trinity and they list no examples of it being used outside of that. I have seen preachers use it to state that they are triune beings like God. It's a term with bad connotations. Their comparison is meaningless too since God is not spirit, soul, body.

Okay, I see you are promoting your books and stuff in the shoutbox. But since you are on a Christian forum it would be helpful if you would explain what it is that you believe that has to do with the supernatural and not just to do with the mind.
