Unequally yoked does not justify divorce...you can assume it does but scripture does not..

I await your response to what I actually said not what you changed my words into :)

Again the letter kills .. this is what Legalism does .. It strips everything of context and adopts a one sized fits all approach.
Ahem....Quest does not believe it is ok to divorce an unbelieving spouse who doesn't want to be married...

I did address it within it's context and posted Paul's words and highlighted the fact that he said if the unbelieving departs LET THEM..so they would be the ones filing for divorce, not the believer.

Obeying the NT instructions is not legalism..if it is then we might as well just say we are just all under grace and love and the instructions for living are just suggestions.

Not according to the letter but they amount to more general principles discussed. Even BAP's proverbs verse about living on the rooftop qualifies as being relevant.

So what exactly is the difference between divorcing an unbelieving spouse whom doesn't want to be married and letting them go as Paul enjoins ? .. Semantics or legalese maybe ?

Ok so they don't want to be married but they don't file for divorce .

So legally you stay married meanwhile they run up credit card debt you are now legally responsible for.
They refuse to work or support the household in anyway ..
They refuse to render due benovalence as Paul instructed them to do..

But hey I guess they didn't commit adultery and since they haven't filed the papers You keep on baring it in order to "glorify the Lord" Huh ?

Sorry NT instructions are'nt an open invitation to self abuse but I await your response

She never did fully address my proverb :) I guess we are to stay married for the sake of being married even if it means living on the roof ?

Under the starry sky, at least it was flat and there was typically a railing. Another interpretation is that the wife discussed needs to repent. It's not really a divorce verse.

You quotd Proverbs and then asked ...Grounds for divorce?

No...Proverbs is just stating a fact...not giving grounds for divorce...

Why would I? You just asked if that was grounds for divorce..I said no...

Now that you ask a question that seems to ignore the power of the love of God I will answer...no, you stay married because you desire to exemplify the character and love of God and obey Him..

It's tempting to put Romans 7:6 and 2 Cor 3:6 in every reply to your posts from now on. Maybe that would teach you some SCRIPTURALNESS. Or whatever.
