First most divorce is not due to abuse just like abortion is RARELY for the life of the mother as I stated earlier...that just a straw man argument that is used to reduce a Biblical discussion to emotionalism...
One can separate for safety if the Holy Spirit leads or we need a time of rest to restore our relationship and clarity with the Lord....there is no scripture that refutes that...
So Jesus who intentionally kept Himself in harms way was self abuse of a demonic thing?
So missionaries who go into dangerous places putting themselves in harms way is self abuse and a demonic thing?
So entrusting our safety and very life in the hands of God as we act in obedience to His word is self abuse of a demonic thing?
As I stated one does not have to divorce to get out of harms way....one can just separate..
I would give my life for Christ.

There is not one single person on the face of the Earth who doesn't already believe like you do who will be motioned in the direction of Christ by watching someone submit willingly to being a free and at all times available victim to an abuser. Some nut might watch that then want to become a Hindu ala human sacrifice and widowburning because that is even more hardcore self victimization but that would be about it.
