"Batman" Adam West dead at 88
http://www.wxyz.com/news/adam-west-s...88-report-says
LOS ANGELES (AP) - The family of Adam West, whose straight-faced portrayal of Batman in a 1960s TV series lifted the tight-clad Caped Crusader into the national consciousness, says he has died at age 88.
Family members said on a verified Facebook page that West died Friday night after "a short but brave battle with leukemia."
West played the superhero straight for kids and funny for adults.

I remember going to my across the street neighbor's house to watch it when it first come on because they had a color TV. All those colors were something back when most still had black and white. As an interesting note, my friend's name was Charles Spurgeon. lol

Loved the Batman series as a kid. Also enjoyed seeing West in quite a few roles in some of my favorite TV shows like Gunsmoke and Perry Mason. It's too bad he was typecast after Batman. He was a good actor. Hollywood could've at least given him a cameo role in some of the recent Batman films. He made Batman popular.
