I don't often watch Christian tv, however when I see Munsey I can't change the channel quick enough.
I think it matters a whole lot whether they spend the money 100 percent on God's work like they suggest that they will be doing or if they spend the money 100 percent on their own lavish lifestyles. Inventing and promoting unbiblical doctrine is one thing, using that for pure greed is another dimension added to it.
Avanzini used to be totally upfront about it, he told people to sow in his soil because he was rich, making him the recipient of the money rather than God's work. At least per default. That's a regular pyramid scheme.
ur talking 2 it... i was n the Christian radio/tv industry... i ran n circles where i saw things go on 1st hand and had friends who had the same experiences. i could tell u of groups u would know who were n2 booze, drugs, and women. laying that aside it was common knowledge n my circles and still is that these so called men of god like munsey receive a certain percentage of the intake from these greed-a-thons. I could tell u lots of stories of my time at O.R.U. and the shenanigans that went on there with the board of regents (mostly televangelists many u'd know) and money. yeah colonel its the spiritual version of amway and guess who sits on top? :waiting::waiting::waiting:
I don't know the names of these guys.. so I had to go look them up.
I don't remember seeing Munsey.. but I did watch Mike Murdoch and I was not only stunned but outraged.
Yeah, Mike Murdoch does it too. That's how a lot of this works for them and lots of preachers. They are the recipient of their own teaching. People naturally are drawn to give to the people that they hear it from. Generally speaking you won't see it work for the average Christian like it does them.
