While it may be multifaceted...do you believe FAITH is developed only in the context of relationship?

I think relationship makes the difference between a mere intellectual acknowledgment of Biblical truth and full complete trust in God.

You can probably have faith in a person (such as a politician for example) without having a relationship with them due to the track record of integrity. People may even tell you how much that the politician has personally helped them and their family. But, apart from a personal relationship with that person, you have no guarantee that the person will meet your personal request no matter how many letters you write, phone calls you make, or numbers of visits to their office. You may have knowledge that the person is true to his or her promises but there is no personal benefit for YOU because you have no relationship with them.

The same is true with God. Many "believers" may have knowledge of God's holiness, integrity, and love. They may hear testimonies of how much God has done for the testifier who knows God. But, apart from personal relationship, it is difficult to believe that God will do it for them personally. This is why so many start out in "faith" but falter after some time because things do not appear to be working. If I am in relationship with God then my faith will never waver no matter how long it takes. Daniel said they who KNOW their God shall be strong and do exploits.
