Fox News Channel's Alan Colmes Dies at Age 66

This was kinda of a shocker to me.
    ____________

Fox News Channel's Alan Colmes has passed away at age 66 after a brief illness.

Colmes leaves behind his wife, Jocelyn Crowley, who issued the following statement:

Alan Colmes passed away this morning after a brief illness. He was 66-years-old. He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley. He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.
Bill Hemmer announced the sad news this morning on "America's Newsroom," which then aired a tribute package from Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, his former co-host on "Hannity & Colmes."

In a statement this morning, Hannity called Alan Colmes "one of life's most decent, kind and wonderful people you'd ever want to meet."

"When Alan and I started 'Hannity & Colmes,' there wasn't a day that went by where we didn't say we were the two most fortunate men in all of television," said Hannity.

Despite their political differences, Hannity said the two "forged a deep friendship" over the years.

"Alan, in the midst of great sickness and illness, showed the single greatest amount of courage I've ever seen," he said.

In the video at the link, Hannity joined Bill Hemmer to remember his dear friend.

Colmes was known for his electric commentary and for the fierce debates across Fox News programs since the channel's launch in 1996. "Hannity & Colmes" debuted on Fox News in 1996 and ran until Jan. 2009.

Colmes also hosted the nationally-syndicated "Alan Colmes Show" on Fox News Radio. He addressed his recent absence from the show in a note to listeners on Jan. 30.

"As I previously mentioned on the show last year, there would be times I would be taking off from the show to deal with a medical issue. This is why I've been out recently and will be out this week as well. But I will be back taking your calls as soon as I can," he wrote.

Colmes' passing comes just days after the death of Fox News Channel's Brenda Buttner, who died at age 55 after a battle with cancer. Neil Cavuto remembered the "Bulls & Bears" host on his show Monday.

Shepard Smith also reflected on the passing of his friend and colleague this afternoon.

"When I first met him in-person, it was not his politics at all, but his kind and gentle way that really struck me," Shep said.

He explained that Colmes was friendly and unpretentious with everybody.

"I saw him frustrated occassionally, but I never saw him angry or bitter," Shep said. "He wasn't that kind of guy. Alan was the happy man about our 'TV house.'"

"Alan Colmes was one of the good guys."

Friends and colleagues are remembering Alan this morning on Twitter...

I used to watch "Hannity and Colmes" occasionally before Hannity broke off into his show (which I haven't watched in a long time either). Kind of sad because I am not sure if the man ever really knew Christ. He was a definitely a liberal in his views. On one episode of Hannity and Colmes Pat Robertson was a guest and Colmes challenged him about the belief that one will go to hell apart from accepting Jesus Christ. This was years ago so I don't remember details. I only hope that it was more of a "seeking" than "gotcha" question.

Well, the world is a better place now with one less liberal on the planet.

Mankind is without excuse, so this guy had ample opportunity to come to the Lord... cause we know God is perfectly just meaning ALL people some how or another have had opportunity to embrace the Lord as it would be unjust for someone to go to hell if they truly never had opportunity to accept the Lord.

So yeah, hopefully when he got sick and was facing death it freaked him out enough to seek salvation thru Jesus.

If he shows up in the Kingdom of God after this age we'll know he got saved... if he does, we'll have no memory that he ever existed in the first place.

Do you really think that is the heart of the Father? Are you really Fred Phelps, using the moniker Farm Truck to troll the internet?

God is sad that any would be lost. He would prefer that ALL men repent and come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You need a heart transplant FT. That heart of stone is supposed to get replaced by the Holy Spirit.

Colmes called himself an agnostic. He was extremely liberal.

Sure, the Lord wanted the guy to get saved and the Lord provided for this guy's salvation... but, those that reject the gospel are leading others away from the gospel.

So, the world is better off without this guy.

Attack me all you want, I couldn't care less (it's just water off a ducks back as it doesn't effect me)... in the end Jesus said those that do not bare fruit will be taken away (John 15), so why would anyone want to disagree with Jesus???

We need to get back to the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles... not doing so is what is causing so much false teaching in these end of days in which we are living... which God told us would come in His Word.

Colmes had a radio program here where I live. I use to listen but he was so liberal about morals and he questioned the Bible all the time. I could only stand to listen for a few minutes. He did have gospel preachers on occasionally and showed them respect, but questioned their Bible beliefs. He was a Jew but not orthodox. He had no loyalty to Israel but a major critic.
