    David Cassidy reveals dementia disgnosis

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...Entertainment&

Former "Partridge Family" star David Cassidy says he's living with dementia.

The 66-year-old opened up to People magazine about his diagnosis, telling the magazine the disease runs in his family, as his grandfather and mother had also been diagnosed with dementia.

"I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming," he told People.

Cassidy's decision to go public with his diagnosis follows a performance on Saturday night in Agoura, California, where he slurred his words, forgot the lyrics to his songs, hit himself in the face with a microphone and fell backwards off stage.

I saw the original story where most thought he was drunk:

I think he was trying to cover for being drunk. Some said they saw him drinking, even though he denied it.

How sad to be in fear for so long. He expected to get it, and he did. How sad.

In reference to the late Jack Cassidy...(Wikipedia)

"In his 1994 autobiography, C'Mon, Get Happy, Cassidy's eldest son David wrote that he became increasingly concerned about his father in the last years of his life. Cassidy suffered from bipolar disorder and was an alcoholic, who was displaying increasingly erratic behavior. In 1974, his neighbors were shocked to see him watering his front lawn naked in the middle of the afternoon.

Cassidy's second wife Shirley Jones described a similar incident when she found him sitting naked in a corner, reading a book. Jones said to him that they had to get ready to do a show, and he calmly looked up and said, "I know now that I'm Christ". In December 1974, Cassidy was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility for 48 hours. At that time, Jones found out that he had been previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder."

    Those horrible generational curses.

It's pretty much a standard PR trick in show biz to use a "disease" as cover for drug, alcohol abuse.

    They all do it.

When I first that video he looked to me like someone who was drunk not like someone who had dementia.
