Does that pond have a name...like perhaps one of the Great Lakes?
Do you still have that swamp? Haven't heard any good swamp creature stories in a long time.

We live on Larks Lake out in a very secluded area. The distant shore is about a mile across from us. When we came into the pastorate at our church there was a couple that wanted us to rent the place. It's an outdoors paradise about 10mi from the church which is also out in the boonies a little ways.
The well known Pleasantview Swamp is near us. I deer hunt the swamp because no one wants to hunt it. Our propery is large enough that you just never know what is going to walk across the yard. I had a wolf encounter at night in our back yard off the road. We had a bear in our front yard just off the deck last August. I wont mention the cougar sightings or Lynx noises. We love it here.

No pond as per, but I’m working on a vernal pool. It had been full of water up until a while ago. We did not have much snow, and so far, not much rain either. Water seems to be draining quickly this spring.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Everybody in South FL "lives on the water", translation: nearby pond.

My lakeside (big pond) frontyard is going to be a pond and mosquito breeding area. I could open a kayak livery right off the front deck.
