Thread: Bishop Eddie Long dies at age 63

(CNN)Bishop Eddie Long -- the Georgia-based head of one of the nation's largest megachurches -- has died, according to the church Long presided over. He was 63.

Long died after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer, according to a statement by the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church first obtained by CNN affiliate WGCL.

"Although his transition leaves a void for those of us who loved him dearly, we can celebrate and be happy for him, knowing he's at peace," his wife Vanessa Long said in the statement.

I just hope he "made peace" with the Lord before he went.

Yeah, hopefully he took 1 John 1:9 as being truth... otherwise, eternity ain't gonna be nuthin nice for this guy.

The Lord taught me to take comfort in knowing that ALL people have opportunity to get right with the Lord... so if someone doesn't take advantage of the Lord's open door to come unto Him and get right, I cast my cares upon the Lord and move on since I cannot control anybody anyway and I can only be responsible for my own life.
