Interesting...the Baptists' primary focus for as long as I can remember is to win the lost...
I don't know any of the details here but I would question what they are opting to cut vs what they are opting to keep?
Sort of like when the government says they have to cut SS or veterans benefits but never seem to mention THEIR exorbitant pay and entitlements.
I am not saying the Baptist are doing that but when something as significant as missions is the object of a major slicing, the question should need to be asked..
Giving is NOT where you want to slash your spending when in a money crisis..

once n a elders meeting it was decided to cut back on lottie moon and a few other missions "programs" course at the time we had over 100k n cd's.... i knew better than 2 bring up the idea of withdrawing money....

Probably had a Wof on the board and got into trouble. When it comes to money, be careful not to overspend God's money. TV evangelists like to go out and make a big bill and then get upset if the listener won't send enough in to pay for it. There is a lot of stupid stuff in the church world when it comes to fiscal responsibility. I say use your noggin. And some wisdom. AND DON'T PUT SOME OF THE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!!!!!
