    Word for the year

Merry Christmas everyone! Now that Christmas is done I'm turning my focus to the new year.
Does anyone, like me, choose a word or a Bible verse for the year each year? What have been some of your previous words of the year? Do you have an idea what word you will choose for 2017?
My 2016 word was deliberate, passionate (but not frantic) and intentional and I had no idea this time last year how this would play out In Our lives. Little did I know that my husband would be force into involuntary retirement after 40 years with the same company. Those words and some Bible verses remain need me often that God has a plan and a future. We are still in the waiting room. Not really old enough to retire and I am still working in a very demanding job. We have put our house on the market with plans to relocate closer to our daughter in Austin. And what comes next is yet to be seen.
I thought it might help to brainstorm ideas and what different words have meant for us.

God hasn't given me a word for the coming year in a long time (or maybe I haven't been listening). However, I do feel the word for me for 2017 is "urgent" or "urgency." Still praying about that.

As I seek the Lord for His Will and for long sought answers to prayers, this verse has resonated strong in my heart. I am not sure it is for the whole year of 2017, but it is what is speaking to me at the beginning of this New Year.

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

I need to put that verse into memory as well!

I have not received a word for the 2017 year, and like Bookman, I might not be listening.

I do know that in January our church will be doing it's annual 21 day fast. I am pretty sure God will be speaking to me clearly.

Blessings to you all for the 2017 year. xo
