25 years ago God showed me something about the state of affairs of the future involving people who were what I would call completely sinful and who were being met by the gospel with such power that they would turn away from their lifestyle and to following Christ instead, with a profound depth of going from one end and to the other end of the spectrum.

Years later I saw a program about homosexuals who were addicted to having unprotected sex with "whoever" and getting some kind of a high out of not knowing if that was when they contracted HIV. One individual was being counselled about getting out of that lifestyle before he actually did contract HIV but he had become an addict and wouldn't let go. But that wasn't quite what I referred to above because it wasn't sufficiently mainstream.

Today (in fact a few minutes ago) I read an article about how youths had started to give themselves tattoos at parties involving a stick and some ordinary ink, even passing the tattoo needle and ink among themselves and reasoning that they would be okay since they "knew" the other people who were doing the same. This is of course being condemned strongly by professional tattoo artists. Then there was a statement by one particular tattoo artist to the effect that it was okay and that youths know what they are doing and the risk involved is part of the thrill involved with doing that. And that there are worse things to worry about, including winds of facism. A clear reference to Donald Trump.

That was a deja vu moment. It was exactly the lifestyle that I saw 25 years ago and which didn't exist back then. It was thoroughly sinful yet something like mainstream enough at the same time. Not a sub culture like a gay lifestyle, just something that "everyone" would do. One could call it being "pan-sinful". Sinful across the board, finding it natural to indulge in whatever immoral activity and finding a thrill in doing so. At the same time, not sinful in any particular direction. Just open to anything, basically.
