MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' Rips NY Times, Washington Post: 'You Were Trying to Help Hillary'

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough ripped the New York Times and the Washington Post on Thursday morning over the way they covered Donald Trump’s chances of winning the election.

“I want you guys to think about this, at the Times and the Washington Post, people I know and love. I want you to think about this,” Scarborough said. “When anybody even made the suggestion that Donald Trump could be elected president of the United States, it was their journalistic standards that were questioned.”

Scarborough opted not to single out specific reporters because many of them are his “friends,” but he said the papers were cheerleading instead of reporting.

The “Morning Joe” co-host said that “reporters at some of the best newspapers in the world” mocked and ridiculed anyone who said Trump had a decent shot of winning the election.

“Think about what you did. You were trying to help Hillary Clinton defeat Donald Trump,” Scarborough said before explaining that all of the coverage of Clinton being such a huge favorite could have disincentivized Democrats from working as hard to get Clinton elected as they would in a close race.

“You completely ignored the world,” Scarborough said.

    Good video.

that was very good! I followed with the Michael Moore interview.

I would call it a religious frenzy about their candidate of choice getting elected. When the announced "religious event" doesn't come to pass it becomes clearer that it was just a frenzy. The comments in the video are very much in line with my own thoughts concerning the Norwegian media. It seems to have been a world phenomenon.

I think the bottom line is that they did not cover the election, they campaigned for Hillary. Journalists should report the news, period.

That's exactly what it was, a campaign for Hillary...to their shame they seemed to have forgotten that they were supposed to be news reporters.

You have to wonder how many magazines and newspapers had to suddenly scrap their glory reports and scramble to put up a new story with what had really happened...and I really wonder if they even had stand-by editions ready just in case Trump won.
