Prophetic ministry does not elevate itself, create a super class.
Matthew 20:25-28 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
You can safely reject ministry that does does not identify as "brother", who seeks lordship over you or identifies as "superior".
Beware the priest/laity construct.

I didn't interpret John's comments as being directed at CatchyUsername personally when he posted them. John has been very generally critical of prophetic ministers that CatchyUsername approves strongly of and I assumed that those would be the context if it amounted to anything more than general statements. To my knowledge CatchyUsername hasn't posted her own prophecies on this forum so it would be a bit strange if someone were to assume that she was trying to dominate others here on behalf of herself as a prophet. Dominate others in terms of "correct beliefs" possibly but that didn't seem to be what John was talking about. John may be trying to add to the contention already present in this thread but that isn't for me to judge.

For the record, I'm here posting some notes on a study I did years ago on the proper identification of prophetic ministry.
If you see anything wrong with the application of scripture please feel free to offer correction. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the church is lacking in this area, the prophetic has a tendency to be ignored due to ignorance or exalted due to ignorance. There is imbalance on both ends but not a lot of sound foundational teaching. A proper understanding of what is and isn't from the Lord allows us to be edified by genuine prophecy instead of just wandering to and fro or rejecting prophecy out of hand.
He did not leave us this gift to be scratching our heads over it. We find the safe place and receive as is His will. We can also safely reject false ministry but we must first be able to discern what is true. The bible does explain how to do that, it's not a mystery.
