From Creation Ministries.

In another thread we were talking about believing the Bible. Well one of this things the Bible tells us is that God created the heavens and the earth in six earth days.

Some people want to say that teaching creation is lying to our kids (e.g. https://www.facebook.com/2.0.evolution), but what CM has found out is that "A clear pattern (has) emerged—those who (went to University who) were equipped to defend biblical creation remained faithful (to God), while those who were not abandoned the church."

Worth thinking about,

Subject: A video that all parents and church leaders should see

Hear students explain why they left or remained in church, in a new 27-minute video titled Fallout!. | VIEW ONLINE
You have probably heard of the surveys that indicate that 66% – 88% of 'Christian' young people are leaving the church, particularly at university age, never to return.*
If you're a Christian parent (or grandparent) or church leader, you should have. We can't pretend that "it is just a USA-specific trend, and isn't happening here", or hope that these horrific statistics won't apply to our children and young people.

Why the exodus of young people?
We realise that there is not one, simple, cover-all explanation for this exodus. But we have long said that we believe there is a very strong connection between having a strong biblical foundation (worldview) that will stand up to the intellectual battering that will come in high school / university, and not wandering from the faith in this period. The secular attack on the Bible's foundational account of origins is an attack on the very existence and relevance of God. In the absence of deep conviction, people—our young people—will simply follow popular culture... Away from God.

Interviews that staff in our US office conducted with students on university campuses bear this out. In a short (27 min) new documentary titled Fallout!, 'Christian' students talk about whether or not they were taught about the evidence for creation, and how this impacted them.

Watch a preview of
Fallout! (1 min 39 sec):
A clear pattern emerged—those who were equipped to defend biblical creation remained faithful, while those who were not abandoned the church.

Fallout!
also provides answers to the three most common evolutionary arguments offered by the students—answers that may have helped prevent these students from wandering from the faith if they had known them.

This DVD is priced for sharing:
10 copies for $15

Share it with your pastors, church leaders, parents and those engaged in evangelism, so they can understand how important it is that young people receive teaching about the reliability and scientific validity of the Bible's account of origins, from their own church—while they're still there.

→ For those of you who give copies of this DVD to church leaders—it ends with an encouragement to the viewer to arrange for a CMI speaker come to their church to provide this critical teaching.
→ You could also give these DVDs to Christians whom you are looking to invite along to a CMI presentation.
* As an example of such statistics, the Southern Baptist Council on Family Life's 2002 report stated that "88% of children raised in evangelical homes leave the church at the age of 18, never to return."
