right...the "if it feels good, do it" mentality.

If you believe in the concept of leadership, that influential people can affect the behaviour of others on scale, you really have look at what is being promoted from the top. Bad behaviour is now rewarded. How are those without anchor supposed to process that?

With the way our government is set up...no limitations on years of service for Congress...we will NEVER be able to get a "Christian" government. And honestly, I don't know that we need a Christian government. The US is not a solely Christian nation, and it needs to be represented in the same manner. Am I saying that I don't want Christian morals to be upheld...no I'm not, but I also don't want other religions to be persecuted for their beliefs either, and that is what would happen if the government was entirely peopled by Christians. What we need is a government that represents who we are as Americans...predominantly Christian. And preferably a HECK of a lot less lawyers in office.

Oh, I agree that that we won't get a Christian government until Christ returns but we could maybe raise our standards a bit and demand an honest one. These people don't even obey the laws they have sworn to uphold.

Your first obstacle...getting people to vote for values, and not for name recognition.

The truth tellers are usually heckled away, relegated to "crazy uncle" status by the media.

    and murdered by the religious

Matt 23:31-33 "Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers' guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?"

That seems to be the gist of it.

Leadership has a tendency to birth behaviour. I understand how the lost can fall into that muck but we now have the a good part of the church not only in the muck but reveling in it.

I have noted before that throughout our history we have rotated between Democrat and Republican leadership and the progression down the slippery slope has not only not halted, has just escalated...

I don't expect that is going to change regardless..

I thought we might find it interesting to see how the parties have shifted since they began:
