It has been a while...welcome back!

For those who frequent our facebook page Thirsty has posted some wonderful singing/preaching videos which I'm hoping she will start posting here too. ;)

As to the thread topic, does your friend come from a denomination where they think they need some kind of intercessor to approach Father God?

Or do you think they are misunderstanding some verses like Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests...or Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us...?

We're talking about asking questions. Obviously we don't take authority in the name of the Holy Spirit, but in the name of Jesus.

Well I found the question sufficiently odd that I decided to elaborate on that detail.

Amen. I call on Holy Spirit often, mostly for help in remembering something or misplaced items. He is our Comforter, our Teacher, and our Helper. Jesus is our Intercessor, so He'd be the one advocating for us.
When your praise match your prayers, the answer will come.

I have a question and I just want to Thank You in advance for your input

Where is it at in the bible that says to ask the Holy Spirit to ask God a question for you because I have never heard of this or seen it in the bible?
They are probably referring to Romans 8

...25 But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently. 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God....

This is not speaking of the type of intercession of a priest but rather the Holy Spirit communicating with the Father on needs we are not aware of in our consciousness...and praying for things where we are not sure how to pray or what to ask...

Love new 'faces'. Welcome...and your comment is on target identifying the functions of the three aspects of the Godhead....
