Apparently it does matter? Don't you believe God gave us tongues for that purpose? I believe He gave us tongues to also bypass our own intellect so that He can intercede for what we need that our minds cannot or will not gasp.

The devil is being crushed under our feet
It's funny how there are ;ots of Christians being whipped by 'ol slewfoot.
That's cause many Christians are following fables and man made traditions rather than God's Word which what the Holy Ghost moves on.

I don't ever worry about the devil listening to anything I say or watching anything I do. There are no instructions anywhere to be careful with what one says because the devil could be listening. The notion that the devil can figure us out based on what we say in a natural language is mere speculation on the verse that says "the one who speaks in tongues, noone understands him."
Jesus said that the one born of the Spirit is like the wind and cannot be predicted. That the devil only understands what belongs to men. So walking in the Spirit confuses the devil, the language spoken doesn't matter to that.
