    Editing and deleting posts

    Here are the timetables:

Time Limit on Editing a Thread Title: 10 minutes

Time Limit on Adding a Poll to a Thread: 15 minutes

Time Limit on Editing or Deleting Posts: 48 hours

After these time limits only moderators will be able edit or delete the things listed above and only mods can delete an entire thread...and that's only if its your thread and you have a very good reason. ;)

Great, we never had the ability to edit thread titles before.

I did not know that we could either. And editing and deleting things is important to me as God often makes me take it back or eat it.

^ Yes, I've often posted and wished I hadn't a few minutes later.

Post deleting, as if it never happened > a bit deceptive. Go back and edit but to not leave a trace, nah, that's not good at all.

IF we worked in some important occupation I can see what your saying but on a Christian forum I don't have a issue as many times what I have typed doesn't always reflect what I wanted to say

Why not be able to delete the whole post instead of a wasted space saying 'delete'

Aren't big govts into keeping a record of all we say, do and type

There is always the chance that someone read that post within seconds and then one tries to alter or delete it. Admins should keep records of posts the way they were originally in order to settle disputes if people for instance try to lie about what they said before they edited or deleted their posts.

Farm Truck mentioned that he gets emails every time someone responds to one of his posts and those are probably sent instantly before any edits take place. (He mentioned this in relation to Woffie accusing him of being Earl something and then Woffie changed that post into something completely different). I think that works rather well because then it will be up to the good will of the one being responded to to look the other way in relation to what the post was like before it was edited.

Here's the honest way of dealing with a post that you may have made but have re-considered.

Leaving holes in a topic or thread > lack of integrity

Why should anyone invest in a topic only to see it viscerated?

Is it possible to maybe make deleting a post possible until it is read?
