I would much rather get my counsel from someone who has never had the problem of depression. For example: Jesus
Not me...that sounds like someone saying that I would rather hear about God's grace and mercy from someone who has never sinned and been forgiven..

Jesus said the one who loves most is the one who is forgiven most. Seems to me the one best able to lead someone out of depression is someone who has walked that path with Holy Spirit before me.

Paul said that he could only teach what he knows...and Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered...and that He is a compassionate High Priest because He experience temptations as we have...yes, He did not sin when tempted and will show us the way out of every temptation...because HE has already walked that journey...

    Thank you Jesus!
That's actually quite relevant...revelation is a huge aspect of our healing of the body or the soul..oftentimes BOTH.

Jesus said when you bring your gift to the alter if you REMEMBER you have ought against your brother...where did that 'remembrance come from? Holy Spirit...

ALL revelation comes from His Spirit to our spirit to our consciousness...

Well, it's not all that complicated, He loves us, He'll talk to us, touch us. If ye have needs He will meet them. Whether it's a word to "change your detergent" or the supernatural restoration of health, He is faithful.

Our testimony of what and how Jesus has worked in us is the spirit of prophesy..it is the word going forth to bring faith and healing to others...testimony is a powerful WEAPON against the deceptions of the enemy and a powerful instrument of Holy Spirit to bring faith forth in others...

No doubt the woman with the issue of blood who had tried everything else available had heard of Jesus, had heard of His healing, Had heard testimony...believed...and ran to Him in faith...woman your faith has made you whole!! Faith no doubt inspired to some degree by the testimony (witness) of others..

The spirit of prophecy is indeed the testimony of Jesus Christ. The exaltation of our Saviour.

The spirit of prophecy is not the exaltation of our spirituality, experiences or techniques.

Jesus never knew depression. It is better not to have known it than to have known it and suffered from it. I would much rather hear from one who is the source of all answers for all things--JESUS! He never was depressed. He is the answer.

Apologies if I'm speaking out of turn here, but given how this thread started regarding MA's choice to share something that was personally affecting her, I personally feel quite shocked by the level of discussion and disagreement in this thread.

I appreciate it's always difficult once a conversation starts to then not want to share opinions on it, but my personal feeling is that there should be some differentiation between "MA's thread" and "the general topic and ways to combat it" thread (which by its nature is open to debate).

MarieAnne, you're pretty awesome for having the strength to be so honest in the first place :)

I don't Nikos, have you ever read in the bible this part:

He was despised and rejected--a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
He was so full of sorrow people looked away, couldn't bear it.

Krystian and the mods: could all of the discussion nor really pertaining to the spirit of MA's thread be sectioned off into a new thread?

(I'm not trying to speak for MA, just askin')
