    You sure about that?
    Yeah, he wasn't disobedient.

    That's just a cop out.

He could have done less (perhaps), but he was appointed to the position by Jesus who, because of what it would involve, appeared to him and let him know what he was to go through.

    Not at all.

God said in Paul's letter to the Romans that "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God" and as all have sinned no one can be sinless let alone as "obedient, loving and knowing as God".

There cannot be a question "What if someone is X" when God clearly states that NO ONE IS "X" (sorry I fell I need to shout but if God says something isn't then saying you can't ask a question about "what if someone was" isn't a "cop out", it's just not addressing non-questions)

It would be very difficult for Paul to be disobedient while the vision lasted. But God wasn't going to hover over him in a blinding light throughout his life. There would be plenty of opportunity for becoming callous or for simply not bothering to do much. Or he could have done what is always possible, to declare himself out of his mind or a victim of mass hysteria at that time and thereby agree with the world. But Paul did obey.
