That is a good point, but to get anything done, he'll need support from Congress, whose members remain subservient to their donors.

The only way to avoid these conflicts of interest is to have every member of Congress, as well as the President, be independently wealthy. Of course, if that were to happen, we would have a government of, by, and for the wealthy, even more than it is now.

So, in a nutshell, we have a veneer of democracy but the reality is that of a plutocracy.

The thing is, he isn't owned or rented out so he has the bully pulpit to call out those who are. He does it quite frequently, by name, calling out who is owned and who owns them, to the shame of the media and others who should be on them.

For people like Trump and Chris Christie it's all a calculated act . At the end of the day when Christie thought it politically expedient he hugged up on Obama faster than you could say Chris . Yes he can stand and berate lowly reporters who get on his nerves but when the piper calls he dances to the tune just like the rest of them
Well, I never understood the "hugging controversy". My goodness, BAP, NY and NJ had just had the greatest natural disaster hit their shores since who knows when? I never gave it a thought but many people thought it was a sign of some sort of secret.....??? What? I dunno. Christie is still a bigmouth, and giving Obama a hug in a crises isn't a sign of great weakness, IMO, but whatever.

Secondly, did you and VW miss where I specifically said: OTOH, he's arrogant, crass, and a bit immature.

I don't need to keep explaining myself when I've been crystal clear, do I? I was explaining what was refreshing about Trump and the reason people are supporting him. And no, I don't recall ANY GOPers using terms like, "anchor babies" and the like. And trust me.....one of my closest friends is from Columbia, married to a Mexican. She will tell you point-blank that probably half of the illegals here are here to game the system (she even gave me the Spanish term for it, but I can't recall). She loathes the illegal immigration problem. Trump has made this front and center, and calls it what it is.

I watched an episode of Drugs Inc not too long ago and the cartel actually employ getting as many girls pregnant out of wedlock as humanly possible, specifically to have all of those, "anchor babies", and then play on the emotions of the American people, too stupid to even understand what the problem is in the first place. They literally said this on camera.

It is a HUGE issue, and Trump is the only one forthrightly addressing it and calling it what it is.

That is a big plus for most people who see this going on, right in our own country. The Democrats call it, "the browning of America", and it's a ploy to change this nation into Democratic voters infinitum. We are an INSANE country where the lunatics are running the farm. *That's* the issue, and will remain an issue for many people.

Trump is doing his part and raising awareness about many important issues, and hopefully the other candidates will get a clue.

Want about the hug per se it was the continual endless praise singing of a president whom was pretty much doing what all presidents do after disasters .a courteous thank you would have sufficed but Mr Christie went on and on and on and on when there Nothing particularly praise worthy about Obamas actions and he did it at such an interesting time too Simply put it seemed like he had his own re-election prospects in a blue state in mind

And... this makes him different from all other candidates how exactly???

Face it, this nation is skrewed up because of career politicians and while I think Ben Carson would be the better candidate due to being a Christian... he need to up his game considerably if he is going to beat out Trump for the nomination.

At least Trump will be tough and confident against our enemies and he's probably the only guy that can act as the hammer this nation needs right now.

All the other candidates are just too soft.
