Hard to tell if he's still awake sometimes... he needs a fire built under his backside! :eyebrows:
I get what you're saying, he is very soft spoken. I've always liked him, but when I saw him speaking to people on the streets of Harlem, he touched my heart. I believe he has a true love for the poor in the African American community, the kind of love that wants better for them, rather than just wanting their votes. I find him very genuine.
I agree he would be a good guy to have as prez, but in the rough and rowdy world of politics... he's going to have to get more vocal and put on a better "show" so to speak so people will notice him.
Love Ben Carson. I believe that he is what this country needs. He may not be all of that Charsimatic, but then where has charisma gotten this country?
On that note, the article was supposed to REALLY be about Jakes and Houston. I know that threads digress but this one digressed from the very beginning :D
If you want to understand the disaster that Obamacare will degenerate into, just look at the the British NHS, the National Health Service. Everyone here in the UK worships the NHS and constantly declares their pride in a system they claim is the "envy of the world".
In truth, the only world that envies it is the third world, and to everyone else who bothers to look it is a laughing stock.
The NHS is a truly diabolical institution despite have some good people enmeshed in it. You Americans need to do everything in your power to put a halt to Obamacare.
I am stunned that people don't understand this.
Thank you, Francis....I have read the horror stories about the NHS. Picture that on steroids....think about it. The UK has 60,000,000 people versus 330,000,000. We have hundreds of inner cities and violence off the chain. The fact of the matter is this. Many doctors said they would leave their practice if it ever came down to a single payer situation, so what would be a horrible situation just immediately went to: undoable. Can't be done. Won't compute. The rich will still have the best healthcare in the world, and everyone else will be without. I have tried over and over to explain this to foreigners and progressives here in the US, but they still SWEAR they know better.
Fact is, it doesn't have to be: People go bankrupt or get healthcare <OR> Single payer. I've never argued for either. But I do know that when a socialistic healthcare model is attempted, it usually doesn't go well, and add to that, our horrific food supply (gmo's, chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, as well as vaccinations, emf's, etc.....), it's any wonder there's even one healthy person in the entire country! It's a vicious cycle and the only people profiting are big pharma and doctors, although I will say that doctors are brainwashed in medical school to only accept a chemical/pharmaceutical solution to all health problems.
Thing is, we've had government health care for decades, an absolute maze of regulations and loopholes and subsidies on both sides of the insurance/practitioner fence.
Free market is the only solution, put a price list on the wall, let the competition begin. You'll see how costs sink like a rock.
that will never fly.
to many people view that as being "mean to the poor"

I find it interesting that the US spends so much on private health care and even so it is near the top for public health care expenditure
I think it will be flying soon enough. Markets abhor a vacuum.
