Adam and Eve didn't know good and evil; how did they sin?

They sinned against a commandment given to them externally. The fruit made sin known to them internally.

So you tell your kid "No", he does, he sins.

You and I are not God. Besides, Adam and Eve were created as adults.

    I'm getting confused reading this.

I keep it simple by believing God knows the exact age of every human when they become accountable as it differs according to their mental awareness. I think it is entirely biblical for God to show mercy to all under the age of accountability and they go to heaven.

The process is described here :

Romans 7:9 I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
10 And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death.
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.

Noah's generation didn't have the commandments but death still came

The intent of the law is written in the heart and conscience.

Rom 2:14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves,
15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)

Totally agree. Except He doesn't have to show mercy. They're born innocent. They go to heaven in this innocence. No 'special' consideration or show of 'mercy' by God is needed. :)
