Try a bacon and tomato with mayo on fresh white bread not toasted. Mmmm...

It's been so hot lately I haven't felt like turning my oven on but thankfully my exhaust fan does exhaust to the outside so today I got motivated and made stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes and a homemade apple pie.
Lamb was about $60/k today so I bought pork chops instead of lamb.
Pork chops are a lot bigger so I probably ended up spending more :headscratch:
Last year this time a news report said,
Three years of drought have caused the price of lamb to skyrocket to a national record price of $354.20 per head. With butchers selling lamb for $19/kg, a family roast can cost up to $60
Another site suggests flock numbers have fallen from about 100m in 2000 to 63m today.
Anyway, tonight we have leftover port chops. One each was quiet enough.
$60/kg is extremely high but I am on the west coast and we pay less than that but it is still too high
Most farmers want to sell overseas as they get top dollar. The same thing happens with our seafood and we end up paying very high prices.
The whole market is twisted ...that's the part of capitalism I don't like
