Yes, we should pay our tithes but where is the compassion for a little old lady... and where is the document she signed when she became a member saying she agrees to pay tithes as a promise and as a commitment. It's conjecture to say she agreed to this, so we don't no whether she did or not.
Point is, she is 92 and church is probably one of the few if not the only social contact she has with other people so her church is skrewing up by kicking her out. The media is going to chime in on this shortly and to them it will be almost as bad as not accepting homosexuality!
God is not going to send her to hell over this, so why should we???

I don't preach for people to break rules. I expect people should honor the group they are in and if they can't then
GET OUT!
If this happened to my Mother who would now be over 100 yrs, I would withdraw membership and go to another church that I agreed with. I would not cause trouble or tell her to keep going there and cause trouble. God forbid that I would expect them to have mercy on her and let her come as a rule-breaker. No way!

Quit worrying about the church. The church is wrong. The lady should thank the church for kicking her out since she did not have the horse sense to get out a long time ago. You can blame the church till the cows come home, but so what. This is America and they have every right to set up their church as they will. But to get your britches up in a wad because they kicked her out, being the old lady that she is, for just being what they are is STUPID!
Don't give her any mercy! I am glad they didn't It isn't the only church in town that she can attend.
The comments here are Nonsensical! Ridiculous!

The simple Point is You dont KNOW the church's way of handling this .. You only heard the media Report as well as the Nephews take on the matter.
For all you know it may have been a clerical error where the 92 year old woman got included in a list of none active members ..If it happens to be a big church its very possible where she wasnt neccessarily singled out. The article does say she wasnt the only one who received the letter.
Like I told Colonel I probably have very little in common doctrinallY with Black Baptist Churches but one thing I can say about Black Baptist Churches even more than WOF they do believe in community and visiting the sick and the shut in and fellowshipping with one another outside church. That's why I am not in such a rush to believe everything I read in the press ..
They very well may be wrong in their actions but simple point is we don't have all the facts and the bible warns us against answering matter's before fully hearing them
So instead of threatening people with hell to pay why not simply pray for all involved ?
