Twelve pages and still only a lot of judging and conjecture...I find that more disturbing than the article..

Well I am glad you are all just some wonderful elderly loving people full of compassion for the poor sick and the elderly but at the end of the day the true measure of compassion is not our ability to bleat on the internet about what other people may not be doing but what our wallets actually do and what we do with our time .So I hope your collective wallets actually reflect all the bravado and the bluster and the chest beating claims to compassion that I read here .

I mean is it too much to ask to have Christians to hold their fire over every little article they read on the Internet ? This church obviously has been around for a while and there is nothing we have read that suggests that this is a pattern with them and frankly speaking I am a little suspicious about people who run to the press over internal church matters as this lady's family apparently did .

For the record I have singlehandedly taken care of my parents for the last 20 years yep every dime every mortgage payment every medical bill and have helped out with some of their friends too . And nursing home?? not in my vocabulary so please spare me the forthcoming lecture about compassion for the elderly

    You all carry on

Come on now posters, admit that you've been banning the elderly because they didn't give you their money. I expect everyone who fits the preceding description to come out into the open about this so that BAP can have some peace.

Now you have to wonder why none of the family notified the church that she was ill, they could have at least asked the church to pray for her since she was such a long term member.
I appreciate the fact that you are pointing out that the facts presented don't support all the assumptions being made here...

The excuses the pro-tithers are making, literally sound, well......insane in the light of what we know. Jesus would probably rebuke you guys worse than He rebuked the Pharisees. The lengths you guys are going to is not in the spirit OR letter of the written Word.

    Just...wow. Wow. Wow. And wow.
You sure are making a LOT of assumptions...

Yeah, let us have more compassion for the eldeerly:

100-year-old killed his sleeping wife with an ax in a gruesome murder-suicide
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/m...urder-suicide/

Elderly man allegedly shoots ex-wife to death, family saw warning signs
    http://fox17online.com/2015/05/04/el...warning-signs/

Elderly man charged with child rape
    http://www.wcyb.com/news/Elderly-man...-rape/34406620

Now if any of you condemn these elderly people for what they did, I will question your Christian compassion. I had better not read one negative comment from you condmening the actions of the elderly here.

Everyone has sinned victoryword so why don't we just condemn everyone to eternal hell and get over it. Just remember to condemn yourself while you are at it.

I'm sure the church that I was a member of has probably deleted my membership by now since I haven't attended in years. I base this on the fact that eventually, I stopped getting envelopes. I went back last weekend, I was welcomed like I had never left and I noticed that all the shut ins were listed in the bulletin with their address (in nursing homes) so members could visit or send them cards. The decision to remove me from the rolls might make sense from an administrative point of view, I'm sure I could renew my membership at any time, but to send a letter like that to an elderly shut in for any reason is inexcusable.
