What fantastic posts by Bap and Quest! You have given amazing points of substance. I have noticed those who worry so much about their pocketbooks, want to argue things that are not even a part of the story, and have so little substance. Nothing but emotional answers. Of course that is the way they give. They are emotional givers who must feel like giving before they will give to the things of the Lord. I know that readers of this thread will learn much from the posts of BAP, Quest and others who give clarification of the story.

    Thanks!

Any pastor and church that would treat an elderly person in their 90s like this is heartless and not christ like. They are all about that almighty dollar
and deserve to be publicly shamed.

Almost all elderly people in their 90s revert back to being child like. I have taken care of my share of elderly relatives and I know this firsthand.
Most of the time they are not able to drive, take care of their finances, and have to be assisted with their hygiene. In almost all cases, they do not eat the proper nutrition
and only want to eat ice cream and cookies.

This doesn't always mean they are not in their right minds. It just means they are old and we will all get to that place unless God sees fit to take us beforehand.

The article says this woman has been a member for 50 years? What a travesty! So she was faithful all those years and now they are going to give her the boot
because she didn't give her tithe? NO RESPECT! Shame on this church and pastor. I hope the very worst for them unless they repent. In fact, I think it would serve them well to
    apologize publicly to their community.

No wonder churches are getting a bad name
    Amen and Amen

Are you kidding?! My brother-in-law, 90 yrs, is sharper than most people I know and needs no Help, thank you. I am sick of people putting down the elderly like they don't know what they are doing. Wake up and smell the coffee. There are many in their 90;s who are sharp as a tack. Probably sharper than some posting on here. We have a pianist at church that is amazing! She is sharper than Obama

1 Corinthians 5:1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.
Now I know the above scripture relates to the flaunting of an incestuous relationship within the church but when I see Christians actually debating whether or not granny gets the boot and other assorted weirdness that only the super spiritual could come up with, that is the scripture that always jumps out at me. The part that is relevant is "even pagans do not tolerate".

Get real people, you don't mistreat the elderly, for any reason, at any time, that's just rank sin. The leadership of that church should be put out, turned over to satan for a season.
