Do you favor or oppose the U.S. sending ground troops into Iraq or Syria to fight ISIS militants?

Do you favor or oppose the U.S. sending ground troops into Iraq or Syria to fight ISIS militants? If so, why? If not, what should we do, if anything?

Yes, we should destroy ISIS... we created this massive imbalance in the middle east by taking out Saddam so we need to stabilize the reagion by wiping out ISIS and building a military base as big as Ft Hood in the Iraqi desert just to keep an eye on those muzlims over there who are always looking to kills people.

Sometimes the only way to stop evil is to put people out of their bodies... it's what God had to do in order to protect ancient Israel, and unfortunately He's going to have to do more of the same.

    nah.

We've proven ourselves incompetent in that area. Got a lot of legless, armless men and women out there plus about 50,000 dead, no sense in adding to that. But, by all means if you feel the need to go kill some muzzies I think you can hop a flight and get a job with the kurds.

    Ronald Reagan had it right..

Perhaps we didn't appreciate fully enough the depth of the hatred and the complexity of the problems that made the Middle East such a jungle. Perhaps the idea of a suicide car bomber committing mass murder to gain instant entry to Paradise was so foreign to our own values and consciousness that it did not create in us the concern for the marines' safety that it should have.

In the weeks immediately after the bombing, I believe the last thing that we should do was turn tail and leave. Yet the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics forced us to rethink our policy there. If there would be some rethinking of policy before our men die, we would be a lot better off. If that policy had changed towards more of a neutral position and neutrality, those 241 marines would be alive today.
    He respected life.

If we fought the war like General Patton would have fought it... there would be much less death on our side and it wouldn't last very long.

Plus, the bigger picture is we would be helping Israel - eventually as ISIS gains more wealth from the black market oil they are selling, they will either be hitting Israel directly or sharing their wealth with those that are such as Hamas and the PLO.

On the other hand... nah, why take responsibility for our actions and clean house over there as to put the fear of God into the minds of muzlims to let them know when they rise up we will put them down!

But, I doubt we will do anything - when they light off a nuke in New York City someday, we will wish we had tho.

Had it been a just war, one with noble purpose, God ordained, we would have had a quick and decisive victory and left the place in better condition than we found it.

That war was born out of deception, it was satanically inspired. The fruit speaks for itself, we really, really need to repent of that. So many were caught up, soiled themselves with that agenda that it's heart breaking.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Don't get on the wrong side of that, the implications are quite serious.

Unless we get a president with the guts to take them out, as noted, a quick war...and will not bow or weaken our forces with PC rhetoric...NO!

We don't need another VIETNAM and I believe that is exactly what we would have with this president.

At least worldwide opinion is in favor of taking out ISIS to a ridiculous degree.

Sorry, but the mess in the Middle East began way before Iraq was dismantled. The U.S. and the West have been trying to broker peace since after WWII, but the strife goes back centuries before. The real reason the West cares about the Middle East, OIL. We have seen that the idea of "nation building" does not work. Instead of trying to keep the artificial country of Iraq, we should help it go back to multi-nation has it had been before.

As for ISIS, the West helped it to power by its actions, we should find a way to reverse it, but unless many other countries are willing to put treasure and boots on the ground, and the nations directly involved are willing to fight, not one US boot should be there.

obama brought them to power to counter the head guy in Syria... so ISIS is obama's buddies!

There are reports of ISIS coming across the southern border of the US so eventually we will see them do act of terror here... it's just a matter of time.
