That's plenty of horsepower! You can run multiple operating systems under Virtual box with that.

I have Macs but gave up on them a few years ago, I tired of the mac tax but it is a terrific OS.

They just got very expensive. I bought one of the first dual core macs, which later became known as the "leaf blower" due to how much noise it produced. I was willing to pay a premium for Apple stuff due to what I thought was their superior design implementations but after the leaf blower they lost me. They recommended putting it in a closet, some of the most arrogant tech support I've ever heard.

I also have an older mac book, I put linux on that too.

Definitely expensive. No doubt about that.

Oh, and I forgot to list 512GB SSD. :)

Just as a point of interest, at least to me :), I worked for Lotus back in the mid 90s who at the time had been bought out by IBM. I was in tech support for the software, i.e., Lotus 123, Lotus Worpro, Lotus Access, Lotus Notes, etc.

They do make nice stuff, the biggie with them is that they don't obsolete as quickly as PCs. That laptop will be more than enough for a very long time.

Yeah, my previous one, a 2007 model I didn't replace until February of last year. So I had that one 7 years.

That is value. Had they not lost every ounce of credibility with me on the leaf blower purchase I would probably still be a customer. I even converted most of my family to Apple and most of them worked for IBM.

What do you guys think about "Wine"

    https://www.winehq.org/about/

This is supposed to allow one to run 90% of Windows applications on Linux and Mac OSx without having to install Windows. I tried it back in the early 2000s when I first installed "Lindows" (what a joke that was) and back then I think I might have gotten one Windows program to run (awafully slowly) on it.
