I got most of my veggie plants in last Friday...tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. I still want to plant some onion sets and radish, carrot and beet seeds but since its been so rainy the last few days it'll have to wait until the ground dries out a bit.

My beans and okra are coming up. (I think I have a few free cucumbers coming up too!) I planted ground cherries and tomatillos last week. I'll put in some regular tomatoes next week.
I've already harvested and eaten the asparagus that the former owner had planted.

LOL...had no idea what ground cherries were, had to look it up. BTW, cukes don't usually reseed themselves well, there's a good chance that those cucumber plants might actually be squash, they look a lot alike when little.

I learned about ground cherries on a gardening podcast. I’ll let you know if they’re any good. Hmmmm, squash would be nice too!

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I recycle some seeds, trying starfruit (tree), spaghetti squash and mandarin oranges, we'll see. From seed packets, chives, sage, green beans, tomatoes.

Really? You're planting already?
Pfffttt...I've been waiting to see when the daffodils will start to pop out of the snow.

My daffodils are poking up. There were lots of them when we moved into this place 5.5 years ago.
In the last 3 years I put in a rain garden because there is a lot of water that moves through our yard and the place where I put the garden wasn't mowable until about end of May and the grass would already be 2 feet tall by then. The rain garden is a busy place with butterflies, various bees, hummingbirds, etc.
Last year we decided to put in a pool and took out 5 trees. There were 3 Norway Maples, and I wasn't one bit sad to see them go. Non-native trees contribute NOTHING to the environment. I'm thinking of Linden trees (basswood) as they lose their leaves late in the fall - after the pool is closed - so there will be less clean up. I'm also adding white pines to the mix - especially since the deer don't really like to eat pines. The Linden's will have to be protected from buck rubs and deer eating the twigs. Smaller plants are still tba - it really depends on what native plants I find when it's time to plant.
