    What God did Abraham love?

Hebrews 11 contains a whole list of names of men who are declared righteous. None of them knew Jesus by name while they were alive on Earth. So, what God did they love. In whom did they have faith?
Here's the kicker... Is God one or not? Do you believe in three or more Gods? Is Jesus a different God from the Almighty or God's Holy Spirit? Is it possible to love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and not love Jesus?

At the time of Abraham they had no knowledge of Jesus, he was not incarnated yet. While people claim to love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob they cannot do that and reject Jesus Christ at the same time. There is the remote possibility that someone is currently following the faith of Abraham and doesn't have the knowledge or understanding that he should receive Jesus as his Messiah but if that happens then it isn't very common.

I see it this way..God is a triune being..one with three functions comparative to us who are spirit, soul and body.

Is it possible to love GOD and not Jesus? No. Jesus said to the Pharisees that had they KNOWN the Father they would recognize HIM..that had they loved the Father they would love Him..because to see one was to see the other.

I believe a Jewish person who really does love the Father will be led to Jesus by the Holy Spirit and will recognize Him...

Is God ONE...I believe Jesus has a Heavenly body and sits at the right hand of the Father and that the Spirit of God dwells in all believers making us one with Him by Spirit. But I also believe a person cannot possible worship one and not the other because they are so harmonious that even with the distinction of scripture they are inseparable. But there is a distinction because God the Father knows when the end will be and Jesus stated He did not..

I live in a society that is so strong on the idea that God is one that I can't help but think in terms of that mysterious one that is three distinct persons, fully God and fully man. Let's face it, it isn't possible to really understand that in it's entirety. Colonel, the understanding of the identity of Jesus, among the vast majority of the Jewish people living today, has no resemblance to the Prince of Peace and my Messiah. The one they claim to reject is not Jesus at all but a false image created by ignorant and misguided people who have called themselves Christians. Just as I reject Hitler as a representation of the spirit of Christianity, they reject this misrepresentation of Jesus as the Messiah. And they are right in the rejection of this false identity.

Some of them may not know what to receive or reject but how can they love the real God without revelation concerning who he is ? Abraham, Moses and Joshua had revelation, they had encounters with the living God. So did the people who were lead out of Egypt and in war against the Canaanites. They had the prophets who did mighty works and prophecied with authority from God. They had the tangible presence of God in the holy of holies. For the last 2000 years they have had nothing like that, only the Old Testament. It does speak about God according to a limited revelation of him. A fervent religionist according to Judaism does not make a follower of Abraham's faith. An encounter with the living God makes a follower of Abraham's faith. The last thing we should ever do is to assume that anyone who does not believe in Jesus as his Messiah will be saved into heaven. Better to allow for the possibility then let God sort them out in the end.

That does not sound any different from conversations I have had with lost people on the web...There truly is a 'false' Christianity where it is 'evolving' or 'progressing'. The only answer I give people is that God is and Jesus Is and if they truly want to know Him that is real He will reveal Himself to them...
Sometimes I point out that Jesus can't be all the diverse things people believe or claim to believe about Him, that there is only one and he is not schizophrenic.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

The one they claim to reject is not Jesus at all but a false image created by ignorant and misguided people who have called themselves Christians.
There are deeply ingrained biases within the Jewish community as it relates to Jesus Christ, some downright hostility in fact. So while some "who have called themselves Christians" may have something to do with it some of the time, it isn't a valid blanket accusation.

Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
In part, it (animosity towards the gospel) is part of Gods plan until the fullness of the Gentiles receive salvation.

So is what you are trying to imply/say is that if a person truly loves 'God' then they also love Jesus so they're going to make it to heaven since that means they love Jesus too, even though they haven't personally recognized Jesus as the son of God and received him personally? Kinda of a 'loophole' for getting many Jews in? Just asking. :)

I have met religious Jews that made me wonder. I'm thinking of a couple of teenagers that seemed very sincere yet quite innocent. I'm open to the possibility that someone could get into heaven on account of having the faith of Abraham but that is all. I would never tell anyone that they or anyone else (in specific) is going to heaven based on such a thing, it's sort of a twilight zone thing to me.
