What autumn activities do you enjoy?
Its cider mill time in Michigan and while I don't particularly care for apple cider I do love the feel of visiting one, picking your own apples, seeing the farm animals, the smell of freshly made donuts.
Now that the season has changed and the days are cooler and shorter what activities do you enjoy this time of year?

I'm not an outdoors person (due to severe allergies), but just being able to open the windows in my house and in my car and enjoy the cool, fresh air is a blessing to me.
I also love watching the green leaves turn into their brilliant, fall colors - If that can be considered an "activity."

We usually get up to Oak Glen.. it's a small apple farm community.
It's a family thing we've been doing for 20+ years.

Something as a kid I thought would be cool would be to gather maple syrup from the trees!
I don't really have any special fall activities...I know the Apple Festival in Ellijay is nice and Helen is a pretty little town in North Georgia..one year I did day labor and picked apples :) up in Indiana.
I kind of lost interest in a lot of this stuff because it just became so commercialized...
I just love to watch the leaves fall on a breezy sunny day...and admire God's beautiful handiwork..

DD usually takes me with her family to an apple orchard that's not too far away & not too commercialized. It's a nice drive on a fall day. And I drive up to Mom's which takes me thru the countryside for 2 hours there & 2 hours back.
Other than that, autumn activities for me are more along the line of house maintenance (caulking, painting, etc) and landscape maintenance (overseeding lawn, relocating some plants, etc).
And then of course there is Christmas shopping which I like to get done before the snow flies, so that's an "autumn activity" too.

Are you sure read the title of the thread correctly?
Tho speaking of leaves, when I was a kid it wasn't uncommon to see folk raking them into a pile on the street and burning them, I used to enjoy that smell and at times I will throw a few leaves into the fire pit to rekindle those memories.

Lol! I used to enjoy it when DH did it. Now that I've retired it's fallen to me. I do have a riding mower with a bagger attachment which makes it so much easier! In about a month I won't be enjoying it so much though.

Driving in the mountains, enjoying the fall colors. Visiting Crabtree Falls is the highlight. I've posted pics of CF before. It's amaaaaaaazing!

Also, Maymont Park and the James River are also favorites to visit when fall colors are at their peak.
