No, he said, "We are absolutely supposed to love homosexuals, because God does. But lets stay with the whole context of what the bible teaches too. Homosexuals/adulterers/fornicators and any other names you can think of which describe the sexually immoral aren't supposed to be part of the church.
We are to love them enough to go into the world and show them God's love. And some will be converted because of this. But again, Paul says to put them out of the congregation.
One more example of how we do church backwards these days. "
Which to me, is saying that we shouldn't allow homosexuals/adulterers/fornicators to continue to sit in a pew.

If they are sitting in a pew, they more than likely consider themselves a Christian. This means that they call themselves a brother in Christ. Paul said to put them out.
If you are sitting in a church where people can comfortably sit in a pew as a homosexual/adulterer/fornicator, then it is probably time to find a new church. Preferably one that preaches & teaches from the bible.
We are to show God's love to the unsaved no matter what their sin is. Paul made it clear. He said that we are not to separate ourselves from the world because it is full of sinners, but we are to separate sinners from the congregation because it is not supposed to be full of sinners, but saints.
I think maybe you are confusing the church with a building. The church is the body of Christ. The Church is not a building made of brick and stone and wood. It is a building made of precious living stones.

1 Cor 14:22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.
23 So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?
24 But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,
25 as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”

Hmmm? That's a thought. Round up all of the practicing homosexuals and kick'em out of the church if they won't repent. Well, Paul did say "not to keep company with those named a brother who is sexually immoral." But if memory serves, wasn't he talking about all professing Christians that practice sin? That probably would be 3/4 of the church. IJS
I'd have to study up on it. Haven't meditated those particular scriptures in a while.

Go into all the world...
Then the ones who become disciples will be your "Church" and the world will be a better place.
Meanwhile, in the "Church" teach truth and righteousness, heal the sick and meet the needs of the body. Get everyone ready to do step one.
