    A myriad of encounters condensed into a theme

    "I have come to understand, acknowledge and therefore believe that you are in fact real. Who are you ?"

    The consuming fire : "I am your Father"

    "Yes, I know that you sent your Son to the Earth to demonstrate the glory that he has that comes from you, his Father."

    The consuming fire : "But I am also your Father. In his salvation, I make it so"

    I look at a being who is impossible to compare to anything in this world in terms of authority, majesty, power. "But I'm only a human being"

    The consuming fire : "Yes, you are. I have a great deal of faith in the human being when he is complimented by my power"

    "You mean like a select few of your servants in the Old Testament ?"

    The consuming fire : "No, I have recreated the human being into something new through my new covenant, the new birth in my Son. By this sanctification he is now capable of being fully complimented by my power"

    "That sounds like the Jedis in Star Wars"

    The consuming fire : "I know how much you have loved the three original Star Wars movies since you were a boy. But not a Jedi according to 'the force', a Jedi according to the Light."

    I walk around for hours in the presence of this being of absolute majesty and power and feel the confidence he has in this human being who is being complimented by his power. "What do you want me to do", I ask.

    The consuming fire : "I want you to look not to the left or to the right at anyone but always straight ahead. I want you to become almost infinitely sanctified during your lifetime and correspondingly full of my power. I have many tasks for you but that is your basic task."

    "How is that possible"

    The consuming fire : "You will have to be as true to that task as the Levites who went back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor after the people had made a golden calf and worshipped it."

    "I have a lot of self confidence, it is even a very basic trait of my people. But I have no idea how I can keep up with that"

    The consuming fire : "I AM your self confidence. I AM your self esteem. I AM the one who raises up, not one servant to speak for me like in the days of Moses but an entire nation of servants that I have shown myself to as I prophecied through my prophet Joel."

    "I choose to believe, not because I have somehow earned it but because I have come to understand that it is my birthright"

    The consuming fire : "Yes, it is your birthright as my son since I am your Father"

    "In that case I don't care about anything else from now on. Not because I need it but because there is a world out there that needs to understand who you are. I make that my medallion."

    AJ talked about a forum she was on earlier where there was a poster who claimed she was going to marry one of the princes of England. What a dream, to be wed to royalty. In the days of king David and king Solomon that was far more real. Things weren't very different at the time of Jesus and the apostles and the metaphor the Bible uses about his Church and the individuals belonging to it being united with their Lord through his Holy Spirit is one of a bride being united with the King of Kings.

    Psalm 45:10 Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention:
    Forget your people and your father’s house.
    11 Let the king be enthralled by your beauty;
    honor him, for he is your lord.

    In those days, maidens were selected from all levels of society according to their beauty. The King of Kings is the one who makes his bride beautiful, it is not according to her natural birth. It is a beauty that has been given to her.

    12 The city of Tyre will come with a gift,
    people of wealth will seek your favor.
    13 All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
    her gown is interwoven with gold.
    14 In embroidered garments she is led to the king;
    her virgin companions follow her—
    those brought to be with her.
    15 Led in with joy and gladness,
    they enter the palace of the king.

    Let's see how the king feels about her :

    Song of Solomon 4:9 You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;
    you have stolen my heart
    with one glance of your eyes,
    with one jewel of your necklace.

    This is the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys, his favorite. She isn't being lead to the king out of formality as one out of many, this is the one he has his heart set on. The relation the King of Kings has to his bride the Church is the same.

    Song of Solomon 6:8 Sixty queens there may be,
    and eighty concubines,
    and virgins beyond number;
    9 but my dove, my perfect one, is unique,
    the only daughter of her mother,
    the favorite of the one who bore her.
    The young women saw her and called her blessed;
    the queens and concubines praised her.

    His bride describes the relation she has to her king :

    Song of Solomon 8:6 Place me like a seal over your heart,
    like a seal on your arm;
    for love is as strong as death,
    its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
    It burns like blazing fire,
    like a mighty flame.
    7 Many waters cannot quench love;
    rivers cannot sweep it away.
    If one were to give
    all the wealth of one’s house for love,
    it would be utterly scorned

    Recall that the whole book is a metaphor for the relation between Christ, the King of Kings and the Church, his bride. The above verses are descriptive of God's love and the relation Christ has to his bride and the relation his bride has to her King. They essentially describe a being who is both love and who also is a consuming fire, those two things being and acting in perfect harmony per default. They denote the very fabric of existence when God is all in all and no relation is qualitatively different to what is being described.

    Dreaming of being married to British royalty is an intriguing thought in our day and age, being selected from a bunch of bronze age sheep herders to be the favorite bride of king Solomon is a bit different. Being part of the bride of the King of Kings is even more different.

    Isaiah 45:10 Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention:
    Forget your people and your father’s house.

    Why does the psalm author say that ? Because the coming bride needs to deal with the fact that she has been brought from the lowest to the highest position in society and she needs to start thinking and acting accordingly. Not because something bad is going to befall her if she misbehaves (which could be the truth) but because she is being made Queen.
